Search expanded for Malaysia Airlines plane missing for 24 hours
NBC News: Authorities expanded search and rescue operations Sunday after the 24-hour mark passed for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
Despite searching overnight, officials said they are no closer to finding the missing plane. Marine rescue teams from several countries have joined the search.
Authorities are also investigating terrorism concerns after it was discovered that two people boarded the plane with stolen passports. An official told the Los Angeles Times that FBI personnel will review video of passengers at the Malaysia Airlines ticket counter before flight disappeared.

Obama on Mandela: ‘Today he has gone home’
Nelson Mandela “achieved more than could be expected of any man. Today he has gone home,” President Obama said.
Mandela, who died at age 95, was suffering from a recurring lung infection but returned home from the hospital in September to spend his remaining days at his family home near Johannesburg.

Timberlake, Rihanna, Taylor Swift among AMA winners
Today Show: At the Sunday night awards, Justin Timberlake claimed the award for favorite male soul and R&B artist. And later, he won the award for favorite soul and R&B album for his album, “The 20/20 Experience.”
Rihanna won the award for favorite female soul and R&B artist, while Taylor Swift claimed the honor for favorite country album for “Red.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis won for favorite rap and hip-hop album for “The Heist.” The two accepted live via satellite from Miami, where Macklemore used their location to implore listeners to fight racism.

Gold bars worth $1.1 million found hidden in plane lavatory in India
Associated Press: Cleaners found a stash of 24 gold bars worth more than $1.1 million hidden in an airplane lavatory after a flight from Bangkok landed in eastern India, officials said Wednesday.
The gold bars weighed around 1 kilogram each. Customs officials confiscated the stash and are investigating.

‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ to be released in 2015
Entertainment Weekly: “Star Wars: Episode VII” will be released on Dec. 18, 2015, Lucasfilm and Disney have announced.
In a statement, Alan Horn, chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, responded to rumors that director (now co-writer) J.J. Abrams was having worries about meeting the 2015 deadline. “We’re very excited to share the official 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, where it will not only anchor the popular holiday filmgoing season but also ensure our extraordinary filmmaking team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture,” Horn said.
